Woman gets kitten as engagement g gift

A CAT lover in Kuantan received a pleasant surprise when one of her hantaran (gifts) from her fiancé for their engagement turned out to be a kitten, reported Utusan Malaysia.

Tengku Nurul Atika Nabiha Tengku Rosnan, 23, received a Persian and British Short Hair mix-breed kitten from Mohamad Ibtisam Syafiq Azmi on Tuesday.

Nurul Atika’s pet cat had died in October.

“That’s why my fiancé chose to give this kitten to me,” she said, adding that the grey and white kitten was well-behaved during the ceremony.

“It ‘cooperated’ by sitting quietly on the tray until it fell asleep,” she said.

Amyra, whose real name is Nur Amira Izzati Rosli, is married to fellow actor Amar Baharin. They have a oneyear-old son, Aqeef Anaqi.

The 27-year-old said she did not want roles requiring her to dress sexily or perform dangerous stunts.

“I get a lot of offers, but I need to be selective as I don’t want to burden others if I find it hard to carry out the demands,” she said.

She also said she asked for her husband’s permission if she had to act out romantic scenes with a male co-star.

“My husband understand­s what I need to do as he is also an actor,” Amyra added.

Khatijah Salleh, 63, died at 2am2 on Thursday in the presence of he er husband Abdul Shukor Achil,

65, and six other family members.

Her son Mohd Shahrul, 34, said although she had highblood pressure and diabetes, she had been given the allclear to perform her umrah.

“A few weeks before leaving, she told us how happy she was to be able to perform the umrah,” he said.

Khatijah was laid to rest in the Baqi’ cemetery in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
