Condemn the despicable act of killing dogs

- JULS Kuala Lumpur

“IF having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better than a lot of humans.” – author James Herriot

It’s shocking and appalling to know there are dog killers on the prowl (“Attacks on dogs continue, now found butchered, burnt”, Nation, The Star, Jan 7; online at tinyurl.com/star-killed).

These dog killers are lowlifes, the lowest of humanity. To try to decipher the mind of an animal killer is simply beyond my thinking capacity. To me, these crackheads are of no use to society and should be brought to justice for the crimes inflicted on the defenceless animals.

The dog killings fall into the ugly vicious group of hate crimes. Why do they torture dogs so inhumanely? What did the dogs do to deserve such torment, pain and suffering?

Dogs are such loving animals and are truly lovable if one just tries to appreciate and understand that every creature of God has the right to walk this earth. To inflict so much of pain on animals is unacceptable.

I implore the people of Malaysia who stand for animal rights to condemn this dastardly, cowardly and despicable animal sadist and demand that he/she be brought to justice.

This person should be named and shamed publicly to deter future copycats who might also think to get pleasure inflicting pain on animals.

Let’s begin a movement in this country to champion and endorse a loving society that exhibits kindness towards animals.

On behalf of all animal lovers in Malaysia I wish to extend my gratitude, respect and appreciation to the exemplary, wonderful Amar Singh and his kind wife for helping the stray dogs. Your kindness towards stray dogs is highly appreciated.

“The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs.” – Charles de Gaulle.
