Myan­mar sus­pects held for killing agent

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Po­lice have ar­rested four men and a woman from Myan­mar to fa­cil­i­tate in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the mur­der of a 55-year-old em­ploy­ment agent who was found dead with 14 stab wounds in Ta­man Pu­lasan, Bukit Minyak, on Satur­day.

Cen­tral Se­berang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab­dul Hamid said the sus­pects, aged be­tween 27 and 40, had been re­manded for 14 days.

“The five were liv­ing in the house where the body was found,” he said yes­ter­day.

At about 3.10pm on Satur­day, the body of R. Manog­a­ran was found with stab wounds all over his body at his rented flat unit.

A 33cm dag­ger was still lodged in his ab­domen when a fac­tory van driver found him.

The de­ceased is said to sup­ply Myan­mar work­ers to sev­eral fac­to­ries in Bukit Ten­gah and lived with 10 Myan­mar work­ers in the same unit.
