Khairul Dza­imee named new Im­mi­gra­tion D-G

PE­TAL­ING JAYA: Datuk Khairul Dza­imee Daud has been ap­pointed the new Im­mi­gra­tion Depart­ment di­rec­tor-gen­eral.

Home Min­istry sec­re­tary-gen­eral Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim said the ap­point­ment is ef­fec­tive from to­day.

He said 47-year-old Khairul Dza­imee holds a Mas­ters in Strat­egy and Diplo­macy from Univer­siti Ke­bangsaan Malaysia.

“He be­gan em­ploy­ment in pub­lic ser­vice in 1996. He has worked in var­i­ous agen­cies and min­istries, in­clud­ing the Na­tional Se­cu­rity Coun­cil and Home Min­istry,” Alwi said in a state­ment yes­ter­day.

Khairul Dza­imee has vast ex­pe­ri­ence in se­cu­rity and im­mi­gra­tion man­age­ment, he added.

“He was also re­spon­si­ble for poli­cies con­cern­ing im­mi­gra­tion mat­ters, for­eign work­ers man­age­ment and na­tional reg­is­tra­tion is­sues due to his post as the Home Min­istry deputy sec­re­tary-gen­eral (pol­icy and con­trol) from July 2018 to Jan 13, 2019,” he said.

On an­other mat­ter, Alwi also an­nounced that Datuk Jamil Rakon has been re­tained as the Home Min­istry deputy sec­re­tary-gen­eral (man­age­ment).

“This is due to his vast ex­pe­ri­ence in pub­lic ad­min­is­tra­tion and man­age­ment.

“He has a Mas­ters in Hu­man Re­sources Man­age­ment from the Aus­tralian In­sti­tute of Crim­i­nol­ogy Can­berra and he started his pub­lic ser­vice at the De­fence Min­istry in De­cem­ber 1992,” he said.

Alwi said he has no doubt that both men will as­sist in strength­en­ing the Home Min­istry and the Im­mi­gra­tion Depart­ment.
