> The daily also reported that a man threw a shovel and poured Milo on his wife after becoming annoyed by her nagging. The incident on Tuesday at Taman Seri Krubong in Melaka left the wife with a head wound that required 20 stitches.

A source told the daily that the man, who works as a lorry driver, has been getting fewer deliveries which affected his income.

This led his wife to suggest that he find another job to supplement his income.

“The victim (wife) rebuked her husband, asking him to go to work, which angered him and he threw a garbage shovel and poured Milo on her, resulting in the injuries on her forehead,” said the source.

The man was later remanded for three days.

> Harian Metro reported that a teenager was slashed with a parang by his sister’s boyfriend after an argument.

During the incident on Monday at Taman Seri Kijang in Penang, the victim, 18, told the 20-year-old that he was unhappy about his frequent stayovers at his family’s home.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the suspect, along with the victim’s sister, went back to his own home in Parit Buntar.

The suspect got a parang and rotan from his home and returned to the victim’s house, he said.

“They started arguing and the suspect slashed the victim before the fight was broken up by the victim’s father,” said Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan.

He said the victim was taken to Hospital Bukit Mertajam before being transferred to Hospital Seberang Jaya as his injuries were severe.
