Dollah wants Pahang to bring out their best performance

PETALING JAYA: Keep on playing well and the result will come.

Pahang coach Dollah Salleh just wants his men to perform to the best of their ability when they take on Kedah in their Super League clash at the Darul Makmur Stadium tonight.

The Elephants head into the clash without suspended Brazilian striker Ze Love while their talismanic Nigerian hitman Dickson Nwakaeme is doubtful with a groin injury.

The good news is the return of French centreback Herold Goulon from suspension.

Meanwhile, their opponents will be without Brazilian centreback Renan Alves who is serving a three-match suspension after he saw red in their 0-0 draw with PKNS last week.

Dollah said he is confident that whoever he picks will be able to deliver against third-placed Kedah.

“I don’t think about our opponents, my focus is always to get my team to play to the best of their ability and get the result. We will be without Ze Love and Dickson is doubtful but I don’t see it as a big problem,” said the former international.

“I have full confidence in my players and we have worked hard in training and we want to win at home.

“Everyone says Kedah will be vulnerable without Alves but I’m sure their coach has a plan to overcome this ... so instead of thinking what they will do, I think it’s better for me to think about what we should do.”

The East Coast side are currently placed second in the 12-team Super League standings on higher number of goals scored although both teams have 11 points while league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim have 13 points.

Dollah added that a repeat of their 3-0 win over PKNP last week will be the benchmark tonight.

“We had to rely on our second stringers then and we got the results because they performed well. If we can do the same against Kedah, we can get full points for sure,” added the 55-year-old coach.
