Student proves learning disability is no obstacle

-

IPOH: Having a learning disability did not stop Muhamad Izhan Haikal from getting good results in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. He had to study twice as hard, but his efforts paid off handsomely in the end.

The SABK Maahad Behyak Al-Diniah Islamiah student in Kampung Gajah scored six As and two As.

“I jotted down all the notes and tips given by the teacher and did revision early in the morning before going to school.

“It was not easy, but I wanted to prove that I could do it,” said the 18-year-old when met at the state education department yesterday.

His mother Shareah Samsuddin, 57, raised him and his four siblings alone following his father’s death two years ago.

Muhamad Izhan plans to enter the National Youth Training Institute as he hopes to become a lecturer.

In Perak, some 624 candidates scored straight As in their SPM.

A total of 30,355 students sat for their exam in 325 centres.
