Tamil community in Johor not amused by more spelling mistakes

-

THE Tamil community in Johor is not bemused by another display of shockingly bad Tamil, this time in the Suara Harapan Johor newsletter, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The newsletter, reportedly an official publication of the state government, is also available in Tamil.

Indian readers in the state said a recent issue contained terrible spelling mistakes and apparent misprint.

They urged the publisher to get the language right before distributing future editions.

The readers also took issue with a report in the newsletter where state exco Dr Ramakrishnan Suppiah reportedly said that Tamil schools do not need management boards.

They said some schools were facing issues with the boards but the call for their abolishment was unwarranted.

> A Sri Lankan woman, who was rescued after being left in a mortuary in Saudi Arabia, died shortly after returning home, reported Makkal Osai.

Srinyanesvari, 48, had worked in Saudi Arabia for 17 years.

She recently fell seriously ill and was admitted to a hospital where she was declared dead and left in the mortuary.

She was retrieved when the hospital realised the mistake and was eventually allowed to return home last month. Shortly after returning home she fell sick and died.
