Golden Hearts Award to have new logo and three new judges

PETALING JAYA: This year’s Star Golden Hearts Award 2019 will feature a new logo and three new judges sitting on the panel.

Star Media Group chief content officer Esther Ng said the new logo would create a “new, fresh look on things”.

“The logo itself is going to be different. It takes a combination of local woven elements weaved into a heart shape.

“This is to symbolise kindness and altruism by Malaysians for Malaysians because there is a very Malaysian feel to it,” she said.

Ng said the new judges would bring a new dimension and perspective to the selection of winners.

“The judges are from different fields so that we can reach out to and touch more people,” she said during the official launch in Menara Star yesterday.

The three new judges are social activist Syed Azmi Alhabshi, National Welfare Foundation chief executive officer Datin Paduka Che Asmah Ibrahim and Yayasan Gamuda head Sharifah Alauyah Wan Othman.

Ng said as a past winner, Syed Azmi would bring “more heart into the whole process”.

For this year’s selection criteria, Ng also said it would be “a lot more stringent” to recognise only the best of the lot.

Separately, Sharifah said their partnership with Star Media Group was to support a common cause to elevate, enable and transform the lives of individuals and society.

“We would like to see winners who can make an impact in transforming the people’s lives for the better.

“In Gamuda, we aspire to share with the public our social initiative to help make a difference in the society,” she said.
