BE loving, funny, fierce yet fair. These are among the qualities a man who has tied the knot 19 times credits for a harmonious marriage, Harian Metro reported.

Seventy-two-year-old silat teacher Che Soh Che Ahmad said having these traits helped his wives and children to get along with each other.

Che Soh, who lives in Kota Baru, Kelantan, said he has 46 children aged between 15 and 50, as well as 200 grandchild­ren.

The man who is nicknamed Che Soh isteri ramai (Che Soh with many wives) in his village, said 12 wives gave birth to his 46 children.

The martial arts teacher said he was 55 when he married his 19th wife.

“I currently have three wives, Mariam Kadir, 60, Hasnah Che Omar, 58, and Zawahir Mat, 59. We all live together happily,” he said.

“As a husband, it is very important to be fair, loving and also funny, only then the wives will listen to you.

“Now, all my wives and children are very close and if we have any quarrels, we will always talk things out.”

> A restaurant owner who got upset when a Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SANS) contractor came to cut off his water supply threatened him with a knife, Berita Harian reported.

The man owed more than RM2,000 in arrears.

The restaurant owner, unhappy at having his water supply cut, waved a knife and scolded the contractor.

Another person who was there during the incident recorded the incident and posted it on Facebook.

SANS public relations division chief Norzita Ismail said the contractor later lodged a police report.
