New PXG woods hit the local market
PARSONS Xtreme Golf (PXG) have launched their new Gen2 line of woods that include drivers, fairway woods and hybrids - all crafted to deliver better distance, ball speed, accuracy and forgiveness.
The golf equipment manufacturing company whose headquarters is in Scottsdale, Arizona used their Hot Rod technology in the new designs that include a multi-level, variable thickness carbon fibre crown, honeycomb sole insert and a precision weighting system.
The stiffer crown reduces energy loss while yielding faster ball speeds and helps reinforce the face structure for improved consistency. The visual styling of the crown aids alignment for more centered and consistent ball striking.
And based on muscle car, the shape of the new crown was designed to enhance aerodynamics by reducing drag.
The thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) used to dampen vibrations in the sole, enhances both the sound and feel of the club. Also, the Gen2 has different honeycomb designs to cater for different flight characteristics.
The matte paint finish reduces glare and reflections, effectively eliminating distractions at address, while the precision weighting system increases the MOI (moment of inertia).
Further still, the fine-tuning alter the initial launch conditions allowing the golfer to achieve the best possible results without changing his or her swing.
PXG Asean and China operations & sales manager Emmanuel Goh, who is based in Singapore and was in Kuala Lumpur recently, expalined that the PXG Gen2 woods are not available off the rack.
“However, we offer customisation fitting for better performance and this is exclusively available at TPC Kuala Lumpur Tech Shop, MST Golf Intermark Mall in Kuala Lumpur and MST Golf PJ (Federal Highway) Tech Centre,” he said.
