Airlines urged to increase flights for Raya season

KUALA LUMPUR: Airline companies should increase the number of domestic flights, especially during festive seasons, so that travellers have more price options, says Anthony Loke.

The Transport Minister said when the number of flight tickets was high, the average price of a seat would come down.

“The prices are usually high when there are only a few seats left on a flight ... The ticket prices increase when there is a high demand,” he said after launching Ekspres Musafir at the Integrated Bus Terminal yesterday

On a proposal to set a ceiling price for an airline ticket, Loke said if the government implemented this during festive seasons, it would affect the average price on normal days.
