Real estate agents deliver
A monumental night at StarProperty Awards
KUALA LUMPUR: The StarProperty.my Real Estate Awards (SREA) 2019 was more than a glamorous night to honour deserving negotiators and agencies but heralded a new chapter for StarProperty Sdn Bhd.
The annual ceremony saw the unveiling of StarProperty’s new corporate logo and the announcement of a merger with online property platform provider Propwall.
Star Media Group CEO Andreas Vogiatzakis said the evening was a special night as it marked a new milestone for the company’s growth story.
“To streamline our offerings and leverage on our position as custodians of the nation’s strongest English media news source, we will be merging Propwall with StarProperty,” he said in his speech on Thursday night.
He said the merger would offer multi touch-points under a unified platform for property buyers, agents and developers to find ideal properties for customers.
Besides the new StarProperty logo, Andreas also unveiled the new environment friendly SREA trophy made of recycled pinewood and crafted by local artisans.
Guests were also given an exclusive sneak preview of the official StarProperty website and app, which will be launched in the coming weeks.
When met after the event, Andreas described the merger of StarProperty and Propwall as more than just the coming together of entities but marks a leap forward for real estate industry.
“Property is significantly important to Malaysians. This includes not only young property buyers who are starting out life after university or getting married and seeking the ideal home but also those looking for good returns through property investments,” he said.
SREA 2019, with its event themed “Crazy Rich Agents”, also recognised winners in 15 categories and over 30 sub-categories.
IQI Realty Sdn Bhd bagged the All-Star Agency Diamond Award along with awards in several other categories, including the Top Voted Agency Award and the Caring Coral Agency Award for its corporate social responsibility work with charitable organisations and local communities.
Its group managing director Daniel Ho said the awards were more than just a recognition for agencies and negotiators but a reminder for them to do better in the industry.
“Winning is nothing short of reminding us that we need to deliver the best for the industry and do the right thing.
“The awards help create an awareness on the emphasis of delivering good value for customers in a professional manner,” he said.
An elated Vicky How Peck Ying, who was crowned the Queen of Real Estate, advised budding negotiators to remain committed and not to give up easily on their goals.
“There is no fixed monthly income and most of them give up in the middle of their journey to success.
“My advice is that they should know their end game and goals,” she said.
The King of Real Estate winner Dezmond Lim Khang Wei said he was surprised but happy at winning the award.
Others companies which were recognised and presented awards were GPlex Realty Sdn Bhd, Ideal Property Consultants, Tech Realtors Properties Sdn Bhd, Total Realty Sdn Bhd, Chester Properties Sdn Bhd, Taras Property and Jubliee Realty.
Earlier, guests were feted to a sumptuous dinner accompanied by performances by the JC Dance Group.
