Fan Bingbing opts for low-key birthday

-

CHINESE superstar Fan Bingbing (pic) opted for a low-key birthday after being plagued with legal troubles, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The actress, who was involved in a huge tax evasion scandal earlier this year, chose to upload an eight-minute video of herself thanking her fans instead.

Dressed in a black top and yellow skirt, Fan also thanked fans for sending her gifts, many of which appeared to be luxury items.

However, Fan said the gift that touched her the most was a book named Our Book, which she finished reading in three days.

Earlier this year, the actress was slapped with a 880mil yuan (RM530.4mil) fine for tax evasion, described as one of China’s biggest tax evasion penalties in history.

> SINGERS Rainnie Yang and Lee Rong Hao confirmed they were getting married after pictures of their marriage registration were leaked online, the Chinese daily reported.

“We have received everyone’s wishes, thank you!” posted Yang, 35, who put up an official photo of the couple when they registered their marriage in Hefei city on Tuesday.

Asked if they would be holding a big wedding reception next year, Yang said they were uncertain.

“We don’t have many relatives so you won’t get to see a ‘Wedding of The Century’,” she said at another event in Taipei on Thursday.

Lee, 34, had proposed to Yang in July. Photos of their marriage were leaked by a social media user in China earlier this week and were widely shared online.

Yang admitted she knew that they were being photographed.

“We tried to stop him and we thought he had deleted all the photos. Little did we know there was one left,” she said.

However, Yang and Lee later decided that they had nothing to hide and that “it was a happy occasion”.
