Corruption does not only involve the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police). Weed out the corrupt developers and town and city council officers giving certificates of fitness to unfinished and uninspected condominiums. The MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) should also check court records when judges seem to favour developers and not the owners on such matters. – MCR

Stating that the haze problem has existed since the Barisan Nasional days is unacceptable. Don’t they know that prevention is better than a cure? Especially since the haze is an annual problem.

Kampung Baru residents in Kuala Lumpur should get a very fair deal from the government (“Govt offers RM850 per square foot for Kg Baru land”, Sunday Star, Sept 22; online at bit.ly/star_baru). They have been occupying the place for more than three generations. A win-win situation is the best solution. – Subra
