Woman puts on 100kg in three months

-

A WOMAN from Pasir Mas, Kelantan, has been stricken by a mysterious disease which made her gain more than 100kg in three months, reported Harian Metro.

Nur Izzati Afiqah Hussian, 29, from Kampung Gaung, Tendong, has seen her weight double to 300kg in about 90 days due to the illness.

The former Kolej Kemahiran Negeri Melaka teaching staff member said the symptoms started in August, when she started feeling pain in various parts of her body and she kept waking up suddenly at night.

“These past three weeks, it has gotten worse and I can’t get up anymore and am only able to lie in bed,” said Nur Izzati.

She is now dependent on her mother, Maheran Daud, 54, and other family members.

She has gone to many traditional practitioners but none have been able to help her.

> The daily also reported that an up-and-coming local singer can now earn as much as RM180,000 from releasing just one single on YouTube.

Composer Harry Khalifah said in the age of social media, it was sometimes more profitable for a singer to release a single on social media than a complete album.

New singers – who are dubbed “budak-budak baru nak up (BBNU)” (the kids just rising to fame) – are benefitting most from the trend, he said.

A singer can expect to make RM3,000 from one million views on YouTube; and if the single is produced solely by the singer, then there was no need to share the proceeds with anyone, he said.

However, he said the trend has also led to a drop in the quality of music produced nowadays.

> Scha Alyahya says her experience in the local entertainment industry has taught her to be more mindful of her public behaviour, reported Sinar Harian.

The actress, model and television host said that this was especially important due to social media.

Scha, whose real name is Sharifah Nor Azean Syed Mahadzir Alyahya, said that she has received many brickbats, including unfounded claims against her daughter Lara Alana, during her 10 years in the entertainment industry.

“There are both pros and cons to social media.

“As celebrities, the public focus on us is a bit more, so it’s important to think before we do something or upload anything on social media,” said the 36-year-old.
