Online insults get up singer’s nose
SINGER Siti Sarah Raisuddin is distraught over comments by social media users insulting her looks.
Harian Metro reported that Siti Sarah was affected by comments on Instagram targeting her flat nose – a life-long sore point.
The Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588) says that netizens who continuously bodyshames a person can face a RM50,000 fine and a year’s jail.
Although she wants the insults to stop, Siti Sarah is worried about how these netizens would react to potential action against them.

Sinar Harian reported that the 1.10am theft was discovered by Taman Kerian residents who were patrolling the area following a spate of thefts at the mosque.
“When they noticed the villagers, both suspects fled but the teen was caught,” Kerian OCPD Supt Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said.
The police were informed and they arrested the boy before apprehending his 20-year-old accomplice 20 minutes later.
Supt Omar said the duo from Nibong Tebal, Penang, used gluestained lidi to fish out the money.

The 14-year-old not only cares for her brothers Muhammad Nabil Abid, 11, and Muhammad Najib Adib, eight, but also her disabled parents, Zakaria Rahim, 46, and Zulaina Kassan, 38, Berita Harian reported.
Her father suffers from a neurological disease following a road accident in 1998 while her mother was paralysed from the waist down after a fever.
Previously, Nurul’s father managed the family, but has been unable to since his health deteriorated.
Nurul Najatul Aisyah, who will be attending Form Three at SMK Taman Ria, gets up as early as 4am to prepare breakfast before school.
The family currently relies on RM800 per month from the Social Welfare Department and donations from NGOs.
