K-pop group Seventeen cancels KL gig due to outbreak

ALL male K-pop group Seventeen has cancelled its concert in Kuala Lumpur, reported Harian Metro.

Scheduled on Feb 22 in Axiata Arena, the concert, which is on the group’s world tour, has been scrapped because of the current novel coronavirus outbreak.

The organiser of the event, iMe Malaysia, issued an official statement on Sunday, saying the cancellation was to ensure the safety of the artistes, staff and fans.

“After due consideration, Pledis Entertainment (Seventeen’s management company) and us came to a decision to cancel the concert,” said iMe Malaysia.

It added that fans who bought tickets will be fully refunded by TicketCharge, and asked fans to check Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.

> The daily also reported that a man’s plan to smuggle 300 litres of petrol was foiled when he was arrested by the Marine Police (PPM) in Semporna, Sabah.

At 5.30pm last Sunday, the activities of the suspect who was in a boat raised suspicion. He was detained by the Marine Intelligence Unit.

Sabah (Region 4) PPM commander ACP Mohammad Pajeri Ali said they found that the 28-year-old did not have any documents on him but claimed he was a Palauh tribesman from Kampung Kulapuan.

> The first suspect in the murder of a Kelantan woman known as Lady Cacabella – her 42-year-old boyfriend – took his own life on Sunday, reported Sinar Harian.

The suspect apparently ingested floor detergent at his home in Kampung Padang Balang, Sentul, which was the same spot where Lady Cacabella was believed to have been stabbed to death last Wednesday.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said that the suspect was found in a weak condition, with breathing difficulties.

“The suspect was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur and was pronounced dead on Sunday,” he said.
