MOE answers questions on arrangements made during MCO
Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) for activities under the jurisdiction of the Education Ministry (MOE) during the movement control order (MCO) period. Q : Can the teaching and learning from home be done during A the extended MCO period? : Yes, teachers can conduct the teaching and learning from home based on the guidelines provided during the MCO period. Q : When can applications for Year One and preschool be done? A : Online applications have been open since March 1 and will end on April 30. Manual applications in school is from March 1 to May 31. Verification that needs to be done in school can only be done once the MCO period ends. Q : Will canteen operators at schools be given an exemption on rent during MCO? A : Yes, this is in line with the economic stimulus package announced by the government. Exemption on rent will be given for six months. Q : Will education officers grade DG41 appointed on contract for the year for national and Chinese type national schools need to report on April 6? A : No, education officers on contract basis would need to report on a different date that will be announced by the Ministry later. This is also depending on the last date for the MCO period. Q : When can teachers who return to Peninsular Malaysia be able to go back to Sabah, Sarawak or Labuan, or vice versa? A: Once the MCO period ends. Q : When will the intake for the first semester for Form Six be known? A : The results of the intake can be checked online via the Education Ministry’s website (http://www.moe.gov. my) from May 13 onwards. Q : When is the registration date for Form Six intake? A : The registration is on June 9. Q : How can I appeal if I have not been given a placement for Form Six? A : For 2019 SPM candidates, the appeal can be made online from May 13 to May 27. For SPM candidates in the year 2018, the appeal form can be downloaded from the Education Ministry’s website (http://www.moe.gov.my).
