DUE to a lack of gossip and sensational news surrounding local singer Syuhada Amin, 24, many assume that it is because her career is “moving slowly”.

This prompted the singer, whose real name is Wan Syuhada Md Amin, to come forward and deny that she had not dropped off the radar after the release of her second single Bukan Dia in 2016, which garnered millions of views on YouTube.

“I’m aware that gossip and sensational stories help budding artistes get recognition. But I don’t feel the need to try and spark gossip,” she told Harian Metro.

The singer, who bagged the TV9 inaugural Idola Kecil title in 2008, said she was comfortable developing her career at her own pace.

But she acknowledged that she had faced numerous challenges and that it was not all smooth sailing.

As for how she was coping under the movement control order, Syuhada said she now had more time to spend with her parents.

> Tune Production producer Hafiz Rozlan confirmed that he and local actress Azar Azmi have split, Berita Harian reported.

“It has been almost two months since the engagement was called off.

“It is not appropriate for me to state the reasons, just that we were not compatible,” he said.

The film director said he had not spoken to Azar a week before ending their engagement as he was “turned off” by events, though he was saddened by the break-up.

Hafiz and Azar got engaged in a private ceremony on Dec 1.

Talk of a rift between the two surfaced when they stopped sharing pictures of each other on social media.
