Longer remand for cop probed for rape

-

PETALING JAYA: The police inspector, under investigation for alleged rape of two Mongolian women, has been remanded for two more days.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said investigations into the case were still ongoing and at 40% now.

“Once completed, we will submit the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” he said.

OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the remand extension was made early yesterday.

“We will refer the case to the DPP soon,” he said after overseeing his personnel conducting patrols under the new Aberdeen Patrol System yesterday.

Last week, two foreign women alleged they were raped by a policeman after they were stopped at a roadblock.

Both were held against their will at a nearby hotel for more than 24 hours before they were rescued.
