New Mavrik family on the market

CALLAWAY Golf have announced the arrival in Malaysia of the new Mavrik line-up of woods and irons.

This is the result of investing in a new and more powerful supercomputer that their research and development (R&D) team employed to design wide-ranging performance features and technologies across the Mavrik line that includes drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons.

“We introduced artificial intelligence (AI) in golf equipment in 2019 and now have significantly advanced our understanding and application of this to deliver distance that defies convention. We’re confident that we will continue to push the boundaries in this new arena of club design,” said Callaway R&D senior vice-president Dr. Alan Hocknell.

Mavrik drivers – The drivers feature Callaway’s new Flash Face SS20 architecture with a more expansive area that delivers faster ball speeds. And the completely new clubface is engineered to specifically work with the head of each Mavrik driver.

The Flash Face SS20 design is made of FS2S titanium to allow the ultra-thin design to stand up to the stress of impact.

Also, for the first time Callaway created a new internal rib system designed to more efficiently control impact vibration to promote more satisfying sound and feel.

The standard retail price of the Mavrik Drivers will range from RM3,199 to RM3,999, depending on shaft options.

Mavrik Fairway Woods – The fairway woods’ Flash Face design work specifically with the size, shape and centre of gravity location of each head to promote optimum speed and spin.

These are the first Callaway fairway woods with fully optimised AI and the Flash Face SS20. The face material is C300 maraging steel, to provide added strength and resilience.

The fairway wood also has an enhanced Face Cup and Callaway’s proven Jailbreak Technology that promotes distance by utilising two internal bars.

The fairway woods retail at RM1,999.

Mavrik Hybrids – For the first time, Callaway has used AI to create a fully optimised hybrid face. And as with the fairway woods, there is different face design for each loft, promoting an optimal combination of speed, launch angle and spin rate.

These are the first Callaway hybrids to feature a fully Flash Face. The Mavrik hybrids retail at RM1,899. Mavrik Irons – The irons also feature a Flash Face Cup design with each individual head’s size, shape, centre of gravity location and loft to create a significant boost in ball speed. With the Tungsten Energy Core, the R&D team precisely positioned tungsten weights into each iron to optimise launch and trajectory.

The standard retail price for Mavrik irons ranges from RM4,999 to RM5,999.
