Diallo aims to turn things around for Turtles

-

PETALING JAYA: Senegalese centreback Babacar Diallo is in the mood to make amends for Terengganu in the Super League.

The league will resume in September with only one round, which means Terengganu will only have eight matches to chart their fate in the league.

Before the league was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Diallo’s team showed great attacking verve in the first three matches as they scored eight goals but they undid all the good work by conceding a whopping nine goals.

The Turtles are currently eighth with four points but Diallo wants his team to make their way to the top.

“There are good things in every tough situation. I’ve learnt to accept it. The league is shorter but everyone will experience the same,” said the 31-year-old.

Training is slated for August, but Terengganu are hoping that it could be done in June.

“My teammates are winners, they have been working very hard. We are all aiming for the same target, which is to take Terengganu as high as possible,” he said.

“It’s an odd year full of hardship but it has given me time to ponder and meditate,” added the devout Muslim, who has played in several countries like Turkey, France, the United States and Finland.
