HONG Kong actor Raymond Lam is currently taking a break from work after being rumoured to have suffered an injury while shooting an action scene in China, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The 40-year-old is said to have injured his shoulder while filming The Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre, the latest film adaptation of one of Louis Cha’s most famous martial arts novels.

Lam is said to have gotten injured after insisting on executing his own action scenes instead of relying on stunt doubles.

Word from among the film crew revealed that a doctor was called in to the undisclosed remote filming location to treat the actor.

When contacted, movie director Wang Jing denied that Lam was injured but said that the latter stopped filming for the time being due to “fatigue and discomfort”.

Lam, once touted as Hong Kong’s most eligible bachelor, got hitched to lingerie model Carina Zhang last year. The couple is said to be expecting their first child.

Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre is the final instalment in The Condor Trilogy novels by the late Hong Kong-based Chinese author known professionally as Jin Yong.

> Taiwanese entertainer and TV show host Jacky Wu reportedly burst into tears of joy upon hearing about his daughter’s engagement, China Press reported.

The 57-year-old received the news on Monday while on the set of Hot Door Night ,in which he served as one of the hosts.

Wu confessed to walking in circles for a full 10 minutes after ending the call with his daughter Vivian who has agreed to marry Wilson Jiang, the nephew of prominent Taiwanese politician Eric Chu Li-luan.

“Time flies ... I saw them growing up little by little,” he said, adding that he cried after the call.

The happy dad told reporters that this was Vivian’s first love, though he admitted that getting married at age 26 “was too early”.
