Single entry point system to enrol in specialised schools
PETALING JAYA: Students planning to enrol in fully residential schools, national religious schools (SMKA), technical secondary schools, vocational colleges, or the Royal Military College for the 2021 session will have to apply for admission through a new “single entry point” system, said the Education Ministry.
“This single entry point system was developed for the admission of Form One and
Form Four students to these specialised schools.
“The new system is based on a centralised application process as well as standardised assessment methods,” said the ministry in a statement yesterday.
All applicants will have to sit for a standardised entrance exam at 555 designated assessment centres nationwide, said the ministry, adding that applicants were required to do well in three components of the test to be eligible for admission.
The three components include soft skills (20%), intellectual intelligence (70%) and articulation in writing (10%).
Application of admission for those entering Form One, Form Four and Year One of vocational college will be held from Sept 7 to Oct 2.
The assessment for Form One applicants starts from Oct 12 to 23, while assessment for Form Four and Year One vocational college applicants will take place from Oct 26 to Nov 6.
Further information regarding the admission exam will be available on the ministry’s website at https://www.moe.gov.my/, starting Sept 1.
