Financial aid for two pupils until they get their degrees
THE school board of SJK(T) Jalan Lobak in Seremban will provide financial aid to two pupils from poor families for their education all the way to tertiary level, Makkal Osai reported.
The board chairman Jeyakumar Muniandy said Suhasini Rajachandran and Sharveshini Subramaniam had achieved excellent results in UPSR in 2017 and 2018.
He added that to ensure that their families’ financial situation does not affect their education, the board has been giving the girls RM1,200 each a year since then to help with their expenses.
He expressed hope that the students will continue to excel in their education and make their family and primary school proud, after he handed over cheques for RM2,400 covering 2020 and 2021 to each of their mothers.
The board, said Jeyakumar, will further help them financially until they complete their degrees.
The board also donated RM20,000 to the school to help upgrade the library, teachers’ room and headmaster’s office.

Ramasamy has urged Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) president Datuk RS Mohan Shan to concentrate more on protecting Hindu temples after the latter criticised the prominence given to the Dravidian principles and the alleged attempt to sideline Hindu traditions in Tamil schools, the daily also reported.
Ramasamy said the MHS chief should differentiate between religious and history education, saying that it is what the components on Dravidian history and Periyar in the Tamil school syllabus are about.
