A MAN destroyed the furniture at his mother’s home (pic) and threatened to ruin her place if she did not sell the apartment and give him the money, China Press reported.

He also scribbled on the walls of the apartment in Hong Kong.

“To my mother: I think you still do not understand me. I do not mean to stay out of the house just until June.

“What I want is half of what the house sells for ... HK$3mil (RM1.59mil).

“After this, I will live my own life. I will never come back,” he wrote.

The mother is believed to have reported the incident to the police.

Pictures of the wrecked apartment went viral on social media. It showed items strewn all over the floor with the TV set and lamps in the living room being turned upside down.

The incident also sparked a debate on the cost of living and prices of homes in Hong Kong, which is known to have one of the most expensive property markets in the world.

> A fan of Taiwanese rock band Mayday got a second chance at owning a signed guitar after his first one was stolen, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Zhang Yuzhi posted on Instagram that a guitar, which was signed by Mayday lead guitarist Monster some 20 years ago during a concert in Tainan, had been stolen.

Little did he know that Monster himself would reply to his post.

“Come. I’ll sign another one for you,” he wrote.

On Monday, Zhang shared that he met up with the guitarist at a cafe on April 9.

The fan brought along an Epiphone Les Paul guitar, which is Monster’s “signature” instrument.

Monster then signed the guitar with a gold Sharpie.

Photos of the guitar were posted online and captured the attention of Monster’s fans.

They praised the band members for being down to Earth and courteous to fans.

“They truly deserve their status as a superband! Never have they ever been snobbish,” a fan wrote.

Mayday debuted in 1999 and continues to be one of the best-selling rock bands in the Chinese-speaking world.
