Some areas in Sabah, Pahang and Kelantan under EMCO

PETALING JAYA: The government will implement the enhanced movement control order in Sabah, Kelantan and Pahang following significan­t increase in cases within several localities there.

In Sabah, the enhanced MCO now applies to Taman Tawau Lama and Kampung Batu Payung after 13 cases were detected from the two localities.

Kolej Tahfiz Sains Nurul Aman in Kota Baru has also been placed under the enhanced MCO after 31 cases were detected there, while the same order was given for Bentong’s Institut Aminuddin Baki and its staff quarters after 15 cases were identified there.

In his daily statement yesterday, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the enhanced MCO starts today and will last until April 30.

On enforcemen­t statistics, 82 people were issued compounds for not observing the Covid-19 SOP.

Of that, 21 were caught not wearing a face mask. Fifteen were issued compounds for failing to register before entering a premises.
