“I’ve had many sweet memories in this house.” Zuraidah Md Ali

THREE years since her children were tragically killed after being attacked by a man running amok at Kampung Sungai Haji Muhammad in Perak, Zuraidah Md Ali still has not been able to muster enough courage to enter her old home, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Zuraidah, now 38, could not forget the tragedy that occurred on the first day of Ramadan and misses her three children – Muhammad Firash Zariff, Muhammad Faqih Zahirul Haq and Nur Zia Fasihah, aged one to five.

“I’ve had many sweet memories in this house and I still remember how Muhammad Faqih reminded us about the start of the fasting a day before he was taken away,” she said.

Zuraidah now stays with her in-laws at Kampung Sungai Timah with her husband Mohd Fadzil Mohamad, 36, and their two children Nur Zurin Faziera, 12, and baby Muhammad Firhaq el Ziedan, who is now a year and six months old.

> She may be a scion of renowned Terengganu politicians but Wan Nabihah Hannah Wan Abdul Hakim does not think that doing food delivery is beneath her, Harian Metro reported.

The daughter of former Air Putih assemblyman Wan Abdul Hakim Wan Mokhtar and granddaughter of the former menteri besar the late Tan Sri Wan Mokhtar Ahmad has been riding her bicycle around Chukai to deliver food for about two months while on semester break to earn some pocket money and gain new experience.

“I chose to be a food delivery rider because of the flexible working hours.

‘’I do not have a motorcycle licence, so I use my bicycle,” she said.

The 19-year-old student, who is pursuing a business foundation course at a private college in Subang Jaya, said she was able to earn more than RM500 after working for a week.

Wan Nabihah said she would apply sunscreen and sunshades as most of her deliveries were between noon and 2pm.

“You don’t have to feel ashamed of what others might say. Just believe in yourself and inspire others,” she said.
