• saddil redeems himself with sabah

PETALING JAYA: After a less than memorable introduction in 2019, Sabah winger Saddil Ramdani has finally lighted up the Super League.

The highly touted Indonesian, with his energy and pace, has netted three goals and provided two assists in seven games for the Rhinos.

Saddil turned out for Pahang two years ago and made 21 appearances but only scored two goals. His contract was not renewed and he left for home and joined Bhayangkara.

But now he has made his presence felt under his coach and compatriot Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto.

And against Selangor tomorrow at the Petaling Jaya Stadium, Saddil will be a marked man. But the 22-year-old from Sulawesi is not worried.

“I do not want to be hailed as a hero in every match.

“For me, the team’s success comes first. We want to be in a better position and we will work hard towards that,” said Saddil, whose team are currently eighth in the league with nine points.

“My aim is to play in every match and continue to help my team and teammates.

“The goals I’ve scored would not materialise if not through the work put in by my teammates.

“Our journey is still long as we are clearly not in a comfortable position yet,” he added.

His outstanding performance has also caught the attention of fans back home.

“Personally, I want to thank the Indonesian community for their words of encouragement. I hope they do not get tired of supporting me and Sabah.”
