Star Education Fair coming up next month
PETALING JAYA: The upcoming Star Education Fair 2021 will see many education institutions gathered under one roof to answer all your questions about studying locally and abroad.
Some of the biggest names in education attended an online balloting session to vie for strategic booths yesterday.
Widely dubbed as the country’s pioneer education exhibition, the Star Education Fair has continuously provided visitors with a wide range of local and international courses and options from various institutions.
The fair prides itself in being a one-stop education exhibition for both foreign and local exhibitors offering educational programmes ranging from pre-university, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate as well as professional and vocational courses.
Visitors can also attend the Education and Career Talks, and do a Career Interest Test if they have not decided which pathway to pursue.
The biggest exhibitors will be University of Nottingham Malaysia with eight booths, Mahsa University and Quest International University with six booths each.
University of Nottingham Malaysia director of student recruitment Lisa Ho said they had been a long standing partner with The Star in providing excellent and valuable tertiary education opportunities to Malaysian students.
“We also provide scholarships through The Star to exceptionally-qualified students who otherwise might not have the financial capability of joining a top British university,” she added.
Mahsa University centre for student application and registration head Mohamed Kassim J said there would be scholarships available for eligible applicants, adding that there would also be rebates for on-the-spot registrations.
He said student helpers would be on hand to share their experiences with interested visitors on their over 70 courses, ranging from diploma to PhD level.
Quest International University chief operating officer Nicholas Goh said: “We are excited and proud to be part of the Star Education Fair 2021, as this is where students and parents can communicate directly with university officials, understand our educational direction and getting the assurance that we will give them the support they need.”
SG Academy manager Jahnavi Shunmuga Velu said they chose the fair because of its reputation as a prestigious education fair.
She added that the vocational education and training (TVET) institution would be offering an allowance of RM7,200 for all programmes, which includes the RM600 per month given to those who take the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) loans.
This is also the first time SG Academy will be at the fair and Jahnavi said their students will be there to share why TVET is the way to go.
The fair, the 34th to be held since its inception in 1987, will be held in Hall 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 22 and 23 from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free.
