Neelofa all the rage on Instagram despite bad press

DESPITE the less than favourable headlines about her of late, TV host Neelofa

(pic) reigns on Instagram, Kosmo! reported. She has

8.6 million Instagram followers as of Sunday.

Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has 8.2 million followers on the same platform.

In August last year, Siti Nurhaliza was top on the list with 7.8 million Instagram followers.

Neelofa, 32, and her husband Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail, better known as PU Riz, had been in the news for breaching Covid19 restrictions during their recent wedding and honeymoon travels.

Other celebrities such as comedian Zizan Razak recorded 7.8 million Instagram followers, Nora Danish (7.3 million) and Mira Filzah (7.2 million). Preacher Ebit Lew secured more than five million followers, making him the only non-celebrity who has such a big following on Instagram.

These were the main reasons that led to many single, successful women seeking the service of matchmaking agencies, reported Utusan Malaysia.

Mostly in their 40s and 50s, they are open to becoming second wives as long as the man makes a suitable partner.

The report stated that most of the women were highly successful in their career.

Among others, they were business owners, lawyers and engineers.

Owner of a matchmaking agency, Zainuddin Mohd Jaafar, said that these women who had signed up with his agency did not mind having a partner who is less successful.

“They come to us because they have tried every other way, including finding love through school friends. So, we are their last option,” he said.

He said some of them were keen to have children before it is too late.

“There are some who are angry that the public keep looking down on single women,” he added.

He also said that there were women who preferred younger men.
