Govt assures outbreaks are within control
THe local outbreaks in vietnam, while complicated, are still currently “within control,” Deputy Prime Minister vu Duc Dam said at the meeting of the national Covid-19 steering committee, urging people to remain vigilant but not to be overly panicked.
Through the recent clusters which are a result of many incidents – failure to observe selfisolation at home after finishing their mandatory 14-day quarantine, or cross-infections within quarantine facilities, he said that some localities have also not followed the health ministry’s guidelines properly.
Dam added that the government do not foresee the case figure to hit 30,000 but they will still prepare for such a scenario nonetheless.
Dam was referring to health minister Nguyen Thanh long’s remark that his ministry has reported to the government their action plan in scenarios when there are up to 30,000 cases, including preparations for ramping up capacity of testing, quarantine, and treatment.
long said that the Prime Minister has assigned the Public Security Ministry and National Defence Ministry to strictly manage the border entry, thoroughly monitor the quarantine facilities to prevent spread of virus into the community, beefing up reviews of all entries into vietnam (including foreigners and vietnamese).
He also underlined the need for border guards and border localities’ administrations to keep up communication with local residents on cooperation to prevent aiding and abetting illegal entries. — vietnam News/aNN
