‘Nasi ganja’ by copter probe completed

IPOH: The investigation into the incident where a helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh to pick up a “nasi ganja” order has been completed, says Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.

He said the investigation paper has been sent to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) for further action.

“We have taken at least five statements over the matter.

“The five people include the helicopter owner and restaurant owner.

“We’re leaving it to the AGC for the next course of action,” he told reporters at the Stadium Indera Mulia vaccination centre here, yesterday.

On July 23, the helicopter, which was only permitted to cross state borders for maintenance work, was seen picking up 36 packets of “nasi ganja” after it landed at Padang Ipoh.

On July 28, Comm Mior Faridalathrash said that the case was being investigated under Section 16 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.

Separately, Perak Youth, Sports, Communications and Multimedia Committee chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed said National Day will be celebrated here under the new norm.

Several events would be held virtually, including the singing, debate and colouring contests, he said.

“We do plan to have a celebration where people can sing the national anthem in their houses while waving the Jalur Gemilang but that is still being discussed,” he said, adding that about 10,000 Jalur Gemilang will be distributed for the upcoming National Day.
