KOTA TINGGI: Perikatan Nasional will draw up a 10-year economic development plan for the state if it wins in the upcoming polls, says its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Citing his experience leading the country and as a former Johor mentri besar, he voiced confidence in helping the state.

He said Perikatan would be contesting in all 56 state seats.

Muhyiddin, who is also National

Recovery Council chairman, offered to be an adviser to the new government.

“We can have advisers for economy, social, education, health and even the environment,” he said at the launch of the Perikatan election machinery at a Felda settlement here late Friday.

During the gathering, Muhyiddin launched Perikatan’s party song and also its war cry for the polls.

Muhyiddin stressed that as a Johorean, he knew what the people in the state wanted and this included the urgency to reopen the land border with Singapore to spur the local economy.

“Johor is one of the states worsthit by the pandemic with the border closed for two years,” he said.

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, who was also present at the event, claimed that DAP and PKR could not fulfil the promises they made in their manifesto for the 14th General Election.

“They could not reduce the price of fuel, abolish tolls and settle all loans under the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN),” he added.

He said Malay youths should not be taken in by the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda), which he said was a DAP creation.

“Even Parti Amanah Negara was created by DAP to rope in PAS members,” he said.
