‘Don’t try to right the wrong’

-

KOTA KINABALU: Do not try to justify a wrong action, Sabah Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin advises Datuk Rubin Balang.

He said Rubin had been seen trying to help his son, Riduan, the Tenom Independent candidate, during the latter’s campaign round.

He said Rubin, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) Kemabong assemblyman, had tried justifying his son’s move to contest for the parliamentary seat as his own decision and had nothing to do with others.

“Rubin does not have to try to right the wrong and deny that he is campaigning for his son as well,” said Bung Moktar.

He also claimed Rubin had been seen with Riduan going to the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Malaysia (KDM) office in Tenom to join KDM after handing in the nomination papers as an Independent candidate.

Riduan handed over his membership application to KDM president Datuk Peter Anthony on Nov 11.

He said Riduan’s entry to KDM was a move to fight against the Tenom Barisan candidate, Datuk Jamawi Jaafar.

Earlier, Bung Moktar called on GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to take action against Rubin for supporting his son in this election, but Rubin insisted that he was not campaigning for Riduan.

He also urged voters to choose wisely and reject “two-faced” candidates and insincere leaders.
