Sheraton Move saved country, says Rembau PN candidate

REMBAU: We needed the Sheraton Move to safeguard the country, says Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus.

The Perikatan Nasional candidate for Rembau said Pakatan Harapan had squandered the “hope” brought about during the 2018 elections during their 22 months in power.

“It was not about disregarding the mandate of the people but it was to save that very mandate.

“The Sheraton Move was a move that saved the people and the country,” he said yesterday when announcing his plans to develop Rembau further.

He said the short time Perikatan was in power showed that it performed well with a good track record, listing the moratorium for borrowers imposed by the then government during the height of the pandemic as an example.

Nazree stressed the emergence of the coalition had given the public a third option, instead of voters returning to Barisan National.

“This is a silent tsunami. When we go to the ground, we can see the response and they support the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“They can see our track record and compare it with the 60 years of Barisan Nasional and the 22 months of Pakatan Rakyat.

“If the people could punish Barisan in 2018 by preventing them from forming the government, then I think it is not impossible for us (to win),” he said.

On his proposed plans for Rembau, he said several initiatives had been brought up, including promoting the area as an ecotourism spot.

Nazree is in a five-cornered fight against Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (Barisan), S. Tinagaran (Parti Sosialis Malaysia), Ramly Awaluddin (Gerakan Tanah Air) and Jufitri Joha (Pakatan Harapan).
