Family want docs arrested over death of footballer
THE family of a teenage footballer in Tamil Nadu, who suffered complications and died following a routine ligament surgery, are demanding the arrest of the two doctors involved, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The 17-year-old footballer R. Priya, who was described as a promising future star, had complained of pain in her legs after the surgery. The family claimed the doctors did not take her complaints seriously.
After her condition deteriorated, she was transferred to a different hospital where she had to undergo two operations, one of which ended with doctors having to amputate her leg. She died soon after.
> The caretaker of SJK (T) Ladang Behrang River, who had served the school for 34 years, was honoured with a special ceremony after his retirement, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Nadarajan Muniandy worked at the school from 1987 to 2020.
During his tenure, he was credited with helping to beautify its compound.
The event, which had to be postponed because of the pandemic, also honoured teachers who had been transferred to other schools.
