SEPANG: Flood victims at the temporary relief centre at SK Kampung Baharu Lanjut were still eager to exercise their right as voters despite having to endure floods.

Fatimah Ibrahim, 47, from Kampung Rancangan Tanah Belia, was evacuated along with her family on Friday after their house was hit by floods the day before.

She said her responsibility as a Malaysian must be fulfilled.

“Assistance provided at the evacuation centre is sufficient and they have made things easier for us, including to vote,” she said when met after casting her ballot at SK Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi.

Fatimah cast her ballot along with her elder sister Zaharah and younger sisters Ainon and Faridah.

She said each contesting political party had provided transport to ferry voters from her village to the polling centre.
