Replacement holiday fun

-

JOHOR BARU: The city centre looked rather deserted as most of the shops were closed, following a replacement holiday announced by the state government in conjunction with GE15.

Some, however, used the opportunity to spend quality time with family members, be it shopping, out for a picnic, attending to personal matters or simply having a feast with family during the holiday on Saturday.

Online trader Nor Hamimah Daud, 26, who voted in Johor Baru, said voting day this time around was more special because she was able to enjoy a long weekend.

“Although it is not yet known which coalition will form the government, I hope that the new government will focus on the well-being and interest of the people and will not waste the mandate given to them,” she told Bernama when met here yesterday.
