Muhyiddin criticised for snubbing the King

JAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has come under fire for rejecting the Yang di-pertuan Agong’s proposal on forming a unity government with Pakatan Harapan.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi described the Perikatan Nasional chairman as arrogant and disrespectful to the King.

“Muhyiddin blames the Palace for saying the statutory declarations (SDS) were incomplete.

“However, he did not reveal the identities of the 115 MPS supporting him,” Puad posted on Facebook yesterday.

He said Muhyiddin’s arrogance showed he was vengeful and does not deserve to be prime minister again.

Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, had said that Perikatan was sticking by its stand that it would not work with Pakatan.

He said the coalition had declined a suggestion by Yang di-pertuan Agong Al-sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-mustafa Billah Shah to form a unity government with Pakatan because it had always been the coalition’s stand not to cooperate with the latter.

“We will not cooperate with Pakatan and that is the coalition’s stand from then until today no matter what the purpose,” he had said.

Istana Negara had summoned him and Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim – of whom both are prime minister candidates for their respective coalition – for an audience at 4.30pm on Tuesday.
