Developed by Panasonic, nanoe X generates “nano-sized atomised water particles” which collect invisible moisture in the air and apply high voltage to it to produce “hydroxyl radicals contained in water”.
These radicals are highly reactive molecules that react easily on a variety of substances – deodorising and inhibiting viruses and bacteria.
Panasonic’s “hydroxyl radicals contained in water” has been researched and developed for more than 20 years – establishing its brand name as nanoe X.
The journey for the nanoe X project began in 1997 when Panasonic researchers were working on a project for the Ministry of International Trade and Industry on purification of air in living environments.
These researchers then became interested in a technology for generating hydroxyl radicals contained in water.
A state-of-the art technology, the researchers needed to go through numerous verification methods and evaluation techniques from scratch which started in 2001.
They initially found that the electrical discharge phenomenon at the core of the process was difficult to control. After two years of perseverance, the team succeeded in creating nano-sized water particles that purify the air. The technology of hydroxyl radicals contained in water was born.
