Najwa Latiff and Akwa Arifin tie the knot
CELEBRITY couple and duet partners Najwa Latif and Akwa Arifin have tied the knot on Nov 11 after three years of dating, Harian Metro reported.
The couple was married on Nov 11 in a ceremony at a hotel in Batu Pahat, Johor, with a dowry of 2.5g in gold.
Singer and composer Najwa said she decided to marry Akwa, 30, after he opened up to her about his desire to move their relationship into a more serious phase.
“Discussions to get married were made since the beginning of the year. At that time, Akwa proposed but I asked for some time to discuss with my family.
“Alhamdulillah, my mother gave the green light to proceed and we set June 11 as the engagement date. After the engagement ceremony, our families asked us to choose the wedding date and following discussion, we fixed Nov 11,” she said.
The 27-year-old, who became popular after her first song Cinta Muka Buku, had dueted with Akwa such as Tak Kisah Pun and Dua.
Najwa said she remained open to collaborating with her husband on more songs in the future.
