‘Extraordin­ary support shows PN’S aspiration­s accepted’

KUALA LUMPUR: The extraordin­ary support given to Perikatan Nasional in GE15 proves that the coalition’s struggle, aspiration­s, brand and direction are well received by people from all walks of life, especially the young, said its secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

As such, he called on Perikatan supporters and machinery to hold steadfast to the fundamenta­ls of the party’s struggle for a better future for Malaysia.

Hamzah, who is also Larut MP, said Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, along with the coalition’s top leadership, expressed their appreciati­on to all Malaysians who had voted and supported the coalition in the elections.

“Our heartfelt gratitude also goes especially to the Perikatan workers and machinery who worked hard to ensure victory in GE15.

“Let’s move forward. We need to be strong and sincere to continue our struggle through the Perikatan platform, regardless of the obstacles and challenges,” he said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.

In GE15 that concluded on Nov 19, Pakatan Harapn won 82 seats; Perikatan 73 seats; Barisan Nasional (30); Gabungan Parti Sarawak (23); Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (six); Warisan (three); Independen­t (two); while Parti Bangsa Malaysia and Parti Kesejahter­aan Demokratik Masyarakat clinched with one seat each.
