No space for racial and religious discord

- BRIG GEN DATUK MOHD ARSHAD RAJI (RTD) President Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot)

PERSATUAN Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot), in standing up for a united, progressive and harmonious nation, congratulates Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister.

We firmly believe that the time has come to re-wire our nation for the better.

The country lost precious years thanks to politicking that led to instability, with politicians capitalising on racism and religious fears for their own agendas.

Patriot now calls on all politicians to work with Anwar in addressing the economy as well as the social well-being of all Malaysians.

In particular we praise the prudent conclusion delivered to the nation by the Yang dipertuan Agong and Council of Rulers and urge all parties to honour that hope for a unity government that can work together.

Those who are intent on dissent or are adamant about destabilising the nation’s with scheming political plots be forewarned: The rakyat are united in wanting a better nation consistent with the wishes of our King.

The immediate rebounding response of the stock market, the positive worldwide news coverage and the personal and official acknowledgements from world leaders that are streaming in are an affirmation of the trust in a unity government which all politicians must now protect and nurture.

Patriot will continue to monitor developments and will not spare those out to derail the momentum that has finally begun in our beleaguered nation.

Patriot invites everyone to pick up the pieces and march forward to build a nation in which there is no space for racial and religious discord.
