Glass a class above as Southern Tigers roar at home

PETALING JAYA: Johor Southern Tigers led by towering Tevin Glass had a wonderful homecoming with an impressive win over KL Aseel in the Major Basketball League Malaysia (MBLM).

Spurred on by home support, they pulled off a 75-62 win in Batu Pahat, Johor, on Thursday.

American giant Tevin Glass was the club’s player of the game with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

NS Matrix came from 25 points behind to beat Pegasus Sports 82-78 to underline their determinat­ion to remain dominant in the league.

Pegasus had built their lead 25 points ahead in the second quarter but a flurry of long shots by Matrix put them back into the game with Kuek Tian Yuan three starting a run of five straight threes that saw the lead reduce to six at the half.

Ting Chun Hong was the star of the show once again as he delivered 29 points but stole the show in the final minute when he struck six crucial points to kill Pegasus’s hopes and secure NS Matrix’s third win.

The other impressive performers were Wong Yi Hou and Mak Lok Seng with 17 and 11 points respective­ly.

Meanwhile, Singapore Adroit finally tasted their first win of the season with a hard fought 80-70 win over Sunrise Youngsters.
