Three busted for selling fake work permits

- — Bernama

Three Bangladeshi men have been arrested on suspicion of selling fake work permits to their countrymen.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the first two suspects, aged between 20 and 30 years, were held in a raid at Kampung Baru Hicom on Tuesday.

He said further investigations revealed the duo had been living in Malaysia for the past three years and had been involved in forging and selling fake work permits since October.

“The fake permits are sold at a cheap price of RM200 and most of their customers are Bangladeshis,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Mohd Iqbal said the police also seized equipment including a laptop, printing machine, three passports and four mobile phones.

Following the arrest, another Bangladeshi, believed to be an accomplice, surrendered himself to the police on Wednesday.

The three suspects have been remanded to help police with their probe.
