Govt wants to empower the disabled

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthen­ing and empowering the disabled through comprehens­ive policies.

The Prime Minister also called for all Malaysians to stop discrimina­ting the disabled and to provide them opportunit­ies to contribute for the developmen­t of the country.

“The unity government which I am leading will continue to focus on empowering the disabled.

“Despite being tested with physical and mental obstacles, the disabled should be given a chance to contribute their wisdom in various fields, especially in terms of developing the community and the country,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunctio­n with Internatio­nal Day of Disabled Persons.

He also called for all Malaysians to protect those in need, including the disabled.
