Company celebrates community cooks and spirit of togetherness

-

Nourishing underserved communities was again a focus for a food manufacturing company.

To fulfil its corporate social responsibility, Maggi Malaysia distributed over 200,000 bowls of bubur lambuk across more than 280 locations nationwide.

Themed “Jiwa Ramadan dan Raya”, this act of charity had been a source of inspiration for Maggi since it started this tradition in 2005 to celebrate the fasting month, a media statement said.

This year, the celebration encompasses community cooks, with the company’s products and ingredients offered to residents of People’s housing Project (PPR) flats, orphanages and community centres.

To launch the bubur lambuk distribution initiative, 5,000 bowls were given out to residents of PPR Desa rejang in setapak Jaya, Kuala Lumpur.

“As we distribute bubur lambuk to thousands of Malaysians, we’re celebrating community cooks whose tireless service already makes a positive difference in their respective PPR areas and beyond,” said Maggi business executive officer ivy Tan Link Cheh.

“Their dedication inspires us at Maggi to amplify the good they bring to their communities.

“This reinforces our mission to foster togetherness among Malaysians, with our appreciation and the sharing of stories that celebrate the true “Jiwa Ramadan” (spirit of ramadan).”

of the unsung heroes – community cooks who prepare nourishing meals for iftar as well as hari raya Aidilfitri gatherings – Tan said, “There is one in every family and community.

“You know them when you savour their dishes because every bite is a reflection of the joy they derive from serving their family and community.

“At Maggi, we want to recognise their devotion, which is reflected in their efforts to create good food moments and in passing down their family’s favourite recipes.”
