EMBRACING a global community of enthusiasts, the annual Chapman’s Challenge has solidified its status as a beloved event, offering a weekend filled with unforgettable moments amid exhilarating trails and spectacular scenery.
Set against the backdrop of Pangkor Laut Resort’s lush tropical jungle and beaches in Perak, this event has evolved into a must-experience for those with a passion for adventure.
Thus, adventure athletes have been called on to circle this May 10 to 12 on their calendars and brace themselves for an adrenaline-packed experience as Pangkor Laut transforms itself into the ultimate setting for thrill-seekers.
This year’s Chapman’s Challenge, the sixth edition of the annual international extravaganza, welcomes back members of the Chapman family – Chris, Stephen and Hazel – alongside a special appearance by Andrew Reid, popularly known as Reidy, from the renowned Australian television series Bondi Rescue.
The presence of Reid, whose heroic efforts as a lifeguard on Sydney’s Bondi Beach have earned him admiration worldwide, adds an extra layer of inspiration as his tales of courage and resilience resonate with the spirit of the challenge.

The event has been touted as a heart-pounding spectacle, with up to 70 participants offered the chance to claim glory and some exclusive prizes.
Among these are sought-after Norqain timepieces, with the brand returning as official timekeeper for the event.
Channelling the daring spirit of the late British Col Freddy Spencer Chapman, participants will embark on a 3.8km road run, 2.4km trek through a twomillion-year-old rainforest and 1km swim in the waters of Emerald Bay.
Col Chapman was a British officer-naturalist who demonstrated extraordinary courage, endurance and mental toughness during World War II.
Spending over three years in hiding from the Japanese, Chapman never lost his indomitable spirit and instead found the courage to cross enemy lines and swim across Emerald Bay to safety.
At this year’s event, post-race celebrations at Chapman’s Bar are set to be a sensory feast, with cocktails flowing, a lavish barbecue dinner and the highly anticipated prize-giving ceremony at Emerald Bay.
The top finisher, breaking the record time, will have their name etched on the Chapman’s Bar scoreboard, while the top three in each category will revel in luxurious stays at select properties within YTL Hotel’s global portfolio.
And that’s not all – not by a long shot.
The overall champions in the men’s and women’s divisions will each receive Norqain Adventure Sport timepieces, valued at RM11,200 each.
For those craving an immersive experience, the Chapman’s Challenge Weekend package beckons.
It’s a three-day, two-night retreat for two, starting at RM2,600.
